John Sabo, of Portage, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2008. He was 83. John was born on August 1, 1924 in Colver, Pa. the son of Steve and Julia (Myers) Sabo, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Sabo of Portage; daughters, Doreen Swanson of Portage, formerly of Chesterton, and Carol (Ted) Rutter of San Diego, Calif; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. John was a lifelong area resident and worked as an Electrician at Ivy Tech. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness in Valparaiso. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall, 930 N. SR. 149 Valparaiso. Arrangements are under the direction by Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage.
