Jeffery Steven Copeland-Sherrard, age 22, of Portage, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2008 in Valparaiso.

He was born on February 21, 1986 in Merrillville, the son of Clifford Grant Sherrard III and Patti Copeland.

Jeffrey is survived by mother, Patti Copeland-Bugarin of Portage; brother, Michael Sherrard of Toledo, Ohio; sister, Megan Crownover of Portage; grandparents, Barbara Copeland of Portage, Nancy (Jack) Woodworth of Chesterton, and Clifford (Kathy) Sherrard, Jr. of Chesterton; aunts, Sharon (Paul) Santiago and Carole (Bob) Kallis; uncle, Ric (Nikki) Sherrard; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Copeland; father, Clifford Sherrard; and aunt, Vicky (Sherrard) Trembicki.

Jeffery was a life long area resident and a construction worker. He was a member of the Real Life Community Church. He loved animals and basketball.

Funeral services, Pastor Bob Burton officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 16, at Real Life Community Church 3134 Swanson Road Portage, with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel 6941 Central Ave. Portage. Memorials may be made to Real Life Community Church.
