James William Howard, of Porter, passed away March 13, 2008. He was 61.
He was born Jan. 17, 1947 in Chicago, the son of Richard and Mary (McCormick)
Howard.
He is survived by his wife Judith Marie (Haddad) Howard.
He is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Robert and Mary Evans, of
Rensselaer; daughters, Amy (Tom) Aldrich of Portage, Heather (Adam) Kellogg
of Chesterton, Jocelyn Howard of Chicago; brothers, Rick (Karen) Howard of
Winthrop Harbor, Ill., Bill (Melinda) Howard of Highlands Ranch, Colo.;
Sisters, Ann (Bob) Boyd of Wheaton, Ill., Mary (Kirsten Jacobson) Howard of
Chicago; five grandchildren, Mackenzie, Madeline, Macintyre, Addison and
Colin; and 14 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Howard.
James worked at the Moody Bible Institute as a Project and Maintenance
Manager. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Liberty Bible Church,
where he sang in the Church Choir.
Funeral services, Rev. Robert Nienhuis officiating, was at 11 a.m. Monday,
March 17 at Liberty Bible Church, 824 N. Calumet (Old SR 49), Chesterton.
Interment will be at Heritage Cemetery, Portage.
Visitation was Sunday at Edmonds and Evans Funeral Home, Portage Chapel, 6941
Central Ave., Portage.
Memorials may be made to the Relay for Life Team “Friends and Family of Jim
Howard” to benefit the American Cancer Society.
