Homer Alton Mullet dies at 84

Homer Alton Mullet, of Valparaiso, passed away March 9, 2008 in Valparaiso. He was 84.

He was born Oct. 3, 1923 in Walkerton, the son of Joseph and Effie (Geyer) Mullet, both of whom preceded him in death.

On Nov. 26, 1944, he married Wanda Mae Masterson, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by a daughter, Jeanette (Mark) Morrison of Jeffersonville; a son, Joseph (Laurie) Mullet of Westville; a sister, Lila Merrick of South Bend; grandchildren, Christina (Todd), Aaron (Missy) and Seth (Lindsey) and great-grandchildren, Zachary, Cassandra, Tyler, Christian and Rylei.

He was also preceded in death by brothers, Carlos, Myron and Wilbur and sisters, Helena and Beulah.

Homer worked as a General Foreman at Bethlehem Steel until his retirement. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Valparaiso, Westville Masonic Lodge #192, Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, Orak Shrine of Michigan City, Order of the Eastern Star and Farm Bureau.

Funeral services, Pastor Gretchen Seiler-Gibbs officiating, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 13 at Bartholomew Funeral Home, Valparaiso.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 12 at Bartholomew Funeral Home. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Walkerton.
