Georgette “Jerry” Wade of Valparaiso died Wednesday, April 23, 2008 in
Valparaiso. She was 80.
Born on December 11, 1927 in Chicago, she was the daughter of George and
Margaret (Tobin) Lawrence. On Oct. 11, 1946 at the First Christian Church in
Valparaiso, she married Charles R. Wade, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by children Larry A. Wade of Valparaiso and Sherry “Sam” A.
Wade-Stephens of Jackson Township; grandchildren Madison R. Wade of
Valparaiso and Jodi L. Sindelar of Tucker, GA; sisters Penny Robinson of
Valparaiso and Lillian Griffin of Berkley, Ill.; brother Michael Lawrence of
Highland, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews, some of whom called her “Annie.”
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents,
brothers John, Frank, and Robert Greenhill and George Bud Lawrence and nephew
Phil Robinson.
Georgette worked as a stockroom supervisor for RW Pool and was also a
dietition for the Pines Village Nursing Home. She loved babysitting and
baking and was also a collector of owls and angels.
Cremation will be at the Heritage Crematory, Portage. There will be no
services. Interment of ashes will be at a later date. Arrangements were
handled by the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Ind.
