George N. Patterson, of Liberty Twp., passed away Saturday evening, April 5, 2008 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Michigan City. He was 73.

He was born Aug. 11, 1934 in Goodwater, Ala., the son of Robert Dailey and Lillie Lee (Reeves) Patterson, both of whom preceded him in death.

On Feb. 14, 1974 in Hebron, he married Barbara Jean Fosdick, who survives in Liberty Twp.

He is also survived by step-children, Chip Frances, of Fla., Dennis Allaart, of New York State, Kevin Allaart, Fla., Linda King, Fla., and Marsha Rivera, of Colo.; a brother, Ronnie Patterson, of Ala.; two sisters, Ann O’Dell and Faye Burkhart, both of Ala.; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

George attended New Life Wesleyan Church, Chesterton. He was retired from Bethlehem Steel. He enjoyed reading Westerns, fishing and gardening. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

A memorial service, Pastor Mike Cloud officiating, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13 at New Life Wesleyan Church, 70 E. 1100 North, Chesterton.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are under the direction of White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton.
