Elenor Kent dies at 93

Elenor Loretta Kent passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2008 at LaPorte Hospital. She had been ailing with heart difficulties for some time. She was 93 years old.

She was born in Chicago, February 28, 1915, the daughter of Leroy and Celia Buxton.

In 1933, she married John Kent of  Chesterton, who passed away in 1996.

She is survived by two sons, John Allan, currently of LaPorte, Bruce Roger, currently of Mishawaka.

She was also preceded in death by a son Timothy Blair and two brothers, Chester and Richard.

While residing in Chesterton, she was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and did some real estate sales. In 1975, when the national lakeshore took their home, John and Elenor moved to a country address, north of Rolling Prairie.

After John died, in 1996, Elenor remained there until she moved to Settler’s house assisted living in 2003.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Eastern Time, at Kaminsky’s Funeral Parlor, New Carlisle.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday  at the funeral parlor.

She will be interred Friday morning alongside her husband at Swan Lake Memorial Park.
