Eldon E. “Eldie” Parker Sr., of Chesterton passed away Tuesday, September 9,
2008 in Valparaiso. He was 92.
He was born January 20, 1916 in Porter.
On February 17, 1939 in Valparaiso, he married Hazel Mae Willett, who
preceded him in death in July 2002.
He is survived by his sons, Eldon (Sharon) Parker Jr., of Chesterton, Richard
W. Parker of Chesterton and Robert L. (Wanda) Parker of Houston, Texas;
grandchildren, Kelly Parker, Kirk Parker, Jenny Campbell, Sherri Parker and
Colton Parker and great-grandchildren, Maggie Riggs, Nicholas and Matthew
Parker and Jonathan Robert Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Willis, Lawrence, Merle,
Alvin and Hickey; and sisters, Ada, Margaret and Ann.
Eldon worked as a recorder in the 80” hot strip at US Steel and was a member
of American Legion SAL Post.
Funeral services, Pastor Tony Goin officiating, will be Saturday, Sept. 13,
2008 at 10 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12 at the funeral home.
