Dale A. Wigren, 72, of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday,
December 3, 2008.
He was born October 27, 1936 in Iron River, Wis., the son
of Arvid and Gertrude (Carlson) Wigren, both of whom preceded him in
death.
On May 13, 1961 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in
Chesterton, he married Marilyn Olson, who survives in Valparaiso.
He is also survived by a daughter, Lynn Ross of Valparaiso;
a son, Cory (Julie) Wigren of Westville; five grandchildren, Teresa,
Bobby, Ben, Jessica and James; and a sister, Arlene Carter of Two Harbors,
Minn.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Anne Scroggin;
and a granddaughter, Mary Ross.
Dale graduated from South Shore High School in Port Wing,
Wis. He retired in 1999 after 39 years at Urschel Laboratories, where he
was a maintenance technician. He was a member of St. Teresa Avila Catholic
Church in Valparaiso. For over 20 years, he worked with his wife and
others providing care, supplies and gifts to those in need in Kentucky and
Louisiana.
Funeral services, Fr. Kevin McCarthy officiating, will be
at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8 at Bartholomew Funeral Home, Valparaiso.
Interment will be in Chesterton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral
