Betsy Q. Smith, passed away June 1, 2008 at the age of 74 at her home in The Villages, Fla.

She was born March 4, 1934.

Betsy was the devoted wife of Richard A. Smith.

She is also survived by children, Richard A. (Mary) Smith, Jr. of Upper St. Clair, Pa., Thomas M. (Merry) Smith of Manchester, Mo., Paul F. (Tammy) Smith, of Chesterfield, Mo.; brother, Frederick (Ellen) Quinn of Port Charlotte, Fla.; grandchildren Ryan Smith, Anna (Ben) Barton, Jonathan (Carolyn) Smith, Elisabeth Smith, Kayla Smith, Kathryn Smith, Jordan Smith, Grace Smith; great-grandchildren, Madeline, Samuel, and Jacob.

She grew up in Trenton, N.J., and spent many years with her family in Chesterton, Ind. and St. Louis, Mo. before moving to The Villages, Fla. in 1998. She was a dear relative and friend to many.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 6 at 11 a.m. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home at 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL 32159. Memorial contributions may be made to the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center at 12902 Magnolia Dr., Tampa, FL 33612 or the Hospice Society of Lake & Sumter at 12300 Lane Park Rd., Tavares, FL 32778-9972.
