Katherine K. Hale of Chesterton died Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago. She was 53.

Born on June 16, 1955 in Gary, she was the daughter of Robert Foley Hale, Sr., and Leona Mary Hessen Hale, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Steven J. White of Chesterton; brothers William G. Hale of LaPorte, Robert F. Hale, Jr., of Chesterton, and James T. Hale (wife Pam) of Indianapolis; sister Julie Hale of Victoria, Texas; nephews Evan and Bruce Hale and Ross Rodino; nieces Barbee and Sheena Hale; and sisters-in-law Jayma Rodino of South Haven and Joyce White of Munster.

Hale was the retail manager at Four Seasons Nursery and Landscaping.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. from the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton with Pastor Katie Lindberg officiating. Cremation will follow at Calvary Crematory in Portage. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at White-Love Funeral Home.
