Mark A. Nover dies at 62

Mark A. Nover, age 62 of Chesterton, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2008 at his home.

He was born on October 11, 1945 in Michigan City, the son of Carl and Henrietta (Bobinski) Nover (Noveroske). His mother, Henrietta Nover survives in Porter. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Nover (Noveroske).

Mark is also survived by former spouse Janice Nover of Ft. Myers, Fla.; son, Matt (Claudia) Nover of Portugal; daughters, Jeanie (John Estes) Nover of Poulsbo, Wash., Becky (Heath) Talbot of Gypsum, Colo. and Debbie Nover of Poulsbo, Wash.; grandchildren, Myla Nover-Estes and Abigail Talbot, and 2 grandsons and 1 granddaughter to be born in the next few months; special friend of 5 years, Sande Vardal of Michigan City; brothers, Luke Nover of Westville, Dennis (Cindy) Nover of Valparaiso, and John (Phyllis) Nover of Milton, Fla.; sisters, “Sis” Arlene (Bill) McGrogan of Porter, and Kay (Jim) Kintzele of Chesterton; many nieces and nephews.

Mark was a lifelong area resident and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Chesterton High School class of 1963. Mark became a member of the Survey Division of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 130 in 1965 and remained with them until his time of death. At this time, he was working as a Technical Engineer for Superior Construction. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving from 1966-1968. Mark and Janice Nover were married at St. Patrick's Church on October 25, 1968 and were married for 31 years. He was a member of the Chesterton Moose Lodge 1623. Mark's pride and joy were his children and family. His most cherished role was being a father and protector to them. Their loss is immeasurable.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd., Chesterton. Cremation will follow at Heritage Crematory, Portage.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Jeanene Nover for a trust fund that will be established for his grandchildren for their college education. www.EE-FH.com
