William Hall dies at 61

William E. Hall, of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007. He was 61.

He was born Aug. 19, 1946 in Lacy, Ky. the son of John A. Hall, who preceded him in death, and Eulah E. Hall, who survives in Portage.

He is also survived by daughters, Carole (Jim) O’Brien of Hobart and Kristine Hall of Valparaiso; brothers, James Hall, Gorden Hall, Danny (Ingrid) Hall and Earnie Hall, all of Portage; sisters, Mary (Bill) Labonte of Porter and Doris (James) Gast of Michigan City; grandchildren, Devin and Delaney O’Brien and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. All of his wrestlers considered him “Dad”.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Thurman Hall.

William was an area resident since 1951 and worked as a teacher and wrestling coach for Chicago Public Schools. He was a member of Portage General Baptist Church and was a deacon of the church. He was also a member of Dune Lodge #702 F&AM.

Funeral services will be at Noon Friday, Nov. 30 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
