William A. Reid 'CB Bill' dies at 72

William A. Reid “CB Bill” of Westville, passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007 at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus, Valparaiso. He was 72.

He was born Nov. 28, 1934 in Palmer, Ind., the son of William R. Sr. and Goldie (St. Paul) Reid, both of whom preceded him in death.

His wife Mary preceded him in death.

He is survived by four sons, William R. (Penni) Reid of Portage, Michael A. (Cynthia) Reid of Boone Grove, Jeffrey Perry of Westville and Chad Reid of Westville; four daughters, Sandra Spenner of Lake Eliza, Susan (Kevin) Tully of Chesterton, Kelly Reid of Marathon Key, Fla. and Tiffany (Ian) Schmutte of Ithica, N.Y.; a brother, Thomas R. Reid of Lake Station; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

William was an electrician, retired from Midwest Steel. He was active in the Westville Fire Department, Ham Radio Association and Skywarn Network.

Funeral service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage. Cremation will follow service.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. Thursday until time of service at 6 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, Portage Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Breast Cancer Research.
