Sandra Thomas dies at 17

Sandra Thomas, of Chesterton, passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2007. She was 17.

She was born July 20, 1990 in Munster, the daughter of Janice Thomas (Todd) Fleming of Chesterton, and James Thomas, both of whom survive.

She is also survived by grandparents, Fred (Dolly) Fleming of Chesterton; a brother, Jim Thomas Marine Lance Corporal, Iraq; sisters, Jillian Thomas of Chesterton, Amy Zywiec of Chesterton, and Kayla Fleming of Chesterton; numerous aunts and uncles including Hope (Chris) Zack of Calumet City, Ill., Sandra (Sean) Sears of North Carolina and special cousins. Jared, Madison, Allyson, Sidney and Josie.

Sandra was a Junior at Chesterton High School and enjoyed softball with the Liberty Rec Ice Team. She played basketball and worked at Duneland Pizza. She loved her dog Febe.

Funeral services, Fr. James Meade officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13 at St. Patrick Catholic Church 638 N. Calumet Rd., Chesterton. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12. Wake Service will be at 6:15 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
