Robert Burl Davis, of Porter, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Porter
Valparaiso Hospital Campus. He was 88.
He was born on Nov. 21, 1918 in East Liverpool, Ohio, the son of Edwin and
Josephine (Burl) Davis, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Mary (Smith) Davis
to whom he was married for 37 years and a brother, Jack Davis.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jan Davis; daughter, Allison; sons,
Christopher and Timothy; step daughters, Susan Monahan, Victoria Anderson and
Cynthia Chandler.
Also surviving are his grandsons, Nicklaus Davis, Miles and Asher Young; step
grandchildren, Julie Bickis, Alexander Reader, Johanna Machamer and Tanner
Gordon; great grandchildren, Hannah and Tanner Davis; step great
grandchildren, Brendan and Nathan Bickis. He is also survived by a brother
Donald Davis.
Davis retired from the Tappan Company as Vice President of Marketing, and was
the owner of Smith & Philips Furniture stores in Canton and East Liverpool,
Ohio. After moving to Florida in 1986, he was a Realtor for Big Sun Realty in
Ocala, Fla. He was an avid golfer and in 1984 he won the Blue Coat Tournament
at Brookside Country Club in Canton, Ohio.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28, at 11 a.m. at the
Riverview Cemetery in East Liverpool, Ohio. Cremation will be by Heritage
Crematory, Portage.

Broadway, Chesterton.
