Pauline Mae (Collins) Rhine, of Angola, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2007
at the Northern Lakes Health Care Facility in Angola. She was 98.
She was born Nov. 10, 1908 on the family farm on the Vistula Pike in rural
Fremont, the daughter of Lynn and Mary (Tubbs) Collins.
On June 17, 1934 in Albion, she married Rev. James William Rhine. He
preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1993.
She is survived by a son, Pastor Terry C. (Sylvia) Rhine of Chesterton;
grandchildren, Jennifer (Rob) Rhine-Walker of LaPorte, Tamara (Dana) Steffel
of Angola and Anthony (Melanie) Rhine of Brownsburg and great-grandchildren,
Collin, Ben and Ryne Walker, Tyler and Ashleigh Steffel and Emma Rhine.
She is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Miller of Angola and a brother
Morris Collins of Fremont and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Collins and a sister, June
Collins.
Pauline attended grade school in the one room Collins School across the road
from her family farm. She graduated from Orland H.S. in 1926 and Taylor
University in 1930. She was a house wife.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday, April 2, at White Love
Funeral Home, 525 S. Second St. and from Noon-2 p.m. Tuesday at Nevada Mills
United Methodist Church with funeral services at the church beginning at 2
p.m. (EST) with Rev. Duane L. Stidham presiding. Interment will be in
Jamestown Cemetery in Rural Route Fremont.
