Melissa Jean North, of Calhoun, Ga., passed away in Rome, Ga., Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, surrounded by her family . She was 42

She was born Feb. 22, 1964 in Valparaiso, the daughter of Kenneth and Paula Brooks of Ranger, both of whom survive.

She is also survived by a daughter, Candace Posey of Ranger; sons, Marshall North and Kevin (Sara) North; grandchildren, Myra North, Kevin North, all of Calhoun; brothers, Fred (Pam) Little of Dalton, Scott (Charlotte) Brooks of Calhoun; nieces and nephews, Kenneth Brooks, Erica Brooks, Shelby Brooks, Adam Parker, Julia (Little) Parker, Katie Little; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hawks of Chesterton, Ind.

Services, Pastor Mat Hutch officiating, were Friday, Jan. 26 at Calhoun Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home, Calhoun, Ga. Interment was at Haven of Rest Cemetery.
