Mary Jane Martin, 83, of Westville, Indiana, formerly of the Michiana area
and for the last ten years, living in Crescent City, Florida, passed away
Jan. 24, 2007 at Waters of Duneland Nursing Home in Chesterton, following an
illness.
She was born in Mount Judea, Ark. on Aug. 22, 1923 the daughter of William
and Christena (Sain) Collins.
On Oct. 17, 1941 in Mishawaka, she married Glen L. Martin, who survives.
He survives with three daughters, Sandra Phelps of Westville, Rebekah Soule
of Mishawaka and Shirley Lape of Clinton, Tenn.; one son, Jeffery Martin of
Salem, Ill.; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a sister Josie Ice
of Mishawaka also survives with a step brother, Johnny Collins.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Mow and two grandchildren,
Trevor Martin and Caleb Janowski along with a granddaughter, Janet Travis.
She was a member of the Anchor Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bubb Funeral Chapel,
3910 North Main St., Mishawaka, where friends will be received from 4 until
8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Interment will
follow the services at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
