Lillian DeMarino dies at 82

Lillian DeMarino, 82, formerly of Monessen, Pa., died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007 in the Charles Morris Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pittsburgh.

She was born in Monessen on March 27, 1925, the daughter of the late Annibale and Candida Prioreschi Giannini.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Elliott Sanft of Wexford, Pa. Maria and Michael Bachuchin of Chesterton, Ind., Amy and Rick Hartman of McCandless Twp. Pa.; three grandchildren, Liza Barbour and husband Trey, Leah Sanft, and Samantha Hartman; a sister, Leona G. Kuhn of Belle Vernon, and by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Daniel D. DeMarino, three brothers, Roland, Baldo, and Angelo “Sonny” Giannini, and two sisters, Rose Sabol and Gerry Elyanich.

Mrs. DeMarino was a 1943 graduate of Monessen High School and a graduate of the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at the former Charleroi-Monessen Hospital and Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc. Mrs. DeMarino was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church, Catholic Daughters of America Court 776, Mon Valley Nurses Association, Italian-American Heritage Society and Sokols USA.

Services will be held on Thursday Sept. 27, beginning with a 9:30 a.m. blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home, Inc., 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen, phone (724)-684-8750. Condolences accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com
