John Clifford Coffield, of Chesterton, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2007
at his home. He was 78.
He was born Jan. 30, 1929 in Chicago, the son of Clifford and Bernice
(Coughlin) Coffield, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline L. Coffield, of Chesterton.
He is also survived by three daughters, Bernice (Mark) Lloyd, of Portage;
Anita (Alvin) Davis, of Pottsboro, Texas and Mary Kay (Frank) Epley, of
Nacogdoches, Texas; two ex-sons in-law, Larry Childers, of Michigan City and
Bruce Gilbert of Valparaiso; five grandchildren, Katie (Charles) Ralston, of
Arizona City, Ariz., Sarah (Chris) Burch, of Portage, Krystal Gilbert, of
Arizona City, Ariz., Robert Coffield and Erin Epley, both of Nacogdoches,
Texas and great-grandson, Charlie Ralston, of Arizona City, Ariz.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Alice Mohr.
John was an Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. He was a member of
the American Legion Post #170, of Chesterton. He was an avid bicyclist and
enjoyed taking car rides.
There will be no services nor visitation.
Memorials may be given to the charity of the donorís choice.
