James McMahon dies at 77

James I. McMahon, of Chesterton, formerly of Oak Brook, Ill., passed away Sunday, May 6, 2007 at his home. He was 77.

He was born Nov. 28, 1929 in River Forest, Ill. the son of Joseph and Mary (Gallagher) McMahon, both of whom preceded him in death.

He is survived by four sons, James (Kathy) McMahon of Hinsdale, Ill., Brian McMahon of Minneapolis, Minn., Joseph (Janet) McMahon of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mark McMahon of Huntington, Calif.; a daughter, Marion (Don Paul) McMahon of Clairmont, Calif.; step-daughter, Victoria Schneider (James) of Wipikida, Hawaii; two brothers, William McMahon of Long Beach, Ind. and Raymond McMahon of Oak Park, Ill.; a sister, Jean McKeon of San Diego, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Heather, Joseph, Gavin, Stewart, Ali, Austin and Jacob and seven great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Josh.

Jim was a member of Moose Lodge in Chesterton.

A Funeral Mass will be Friday, May 11 at St. Luke Church, Oak Park, Ill. Private interment will be at All Saints Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3-9 p.m. Thursday, May 10 at the Drechsler, Brown and Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St., Oak Park, Ill.

Memorials may be given to Loyola University of Chicago Annual Fund, 820 N. Michigan Rd. Suite 1500, Chicago, Ill. 60611.

Arrangements are under the direction of White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton.
