James C. Smith of Chesterton died at home Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007. He was 20.
Born Sept. 29, 1986 in Merrillville, he was the son of Owen V. and Vicki L.
(Jackson) Smith of Chesterton, who survive.
Also surviving are sister Allison L. Smith of Chesterton; paternal
grandparents William C. and Loisdene Smith of Foley, Ala.; maternal
grandparents James H. and Grace L. Jackson of Leesburg, Fla.; many aunts,
uncles and cousins; and very special friends Dr. Clark Kramer and staff. His
family and friends say they love and will miss him.
Jimmy was a 2005 graduate of the SELF School in Valparaiso and was still
attending the SELF post-graduate class. He had also attended the NISEC in
Crown Point and the Eldon Ready School in Griffith.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 11 a.m. from the
White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St. Chesterton, with Rev. Thelma Megill-Cobbler
officiating. Burial will be in Chesterton Cemetery. The family will receive
friends on Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the White-Love Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made in Jimmy’s memory for a memorial fund yet to be
determined.
