Helen Hanrahan dies at 95

Helen Hanrahan, of Valparaiso, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007 at the VNA Hospice Center. She was 95.

She was born Dec. 31, 1911 in Valparaiso, the daughter of Clarence and Grace Link, who preceded her in death.

Her husband Leroy “Pete” Hanrahan preceded her in death Dec. 3, 1952.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Tom) Isaacs of Valparaiso; a son, Don (Barbara) Hanrahan of Minnesota; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a sister, Doris (Red) Clover.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Herbert (Jeanne) Link and two sisters, Eleanor (“Bud”) Reed and Mary (Harvey) Shurr.

Helen was a loan officer at the First National Bank in Valparaiso. She was a member of Liberty Bible Church, Porter County Council on Aging and the Farm Bureau Group.

Funeral services, Pastor Mike Sutton officiating, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28 at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St., Valparaiso. Interment will be in Kimball Cemetery in Liberty Twp.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at Bartholomew Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice, 501 Marquette St., Valparaiso, IN 46383.
