Francis R. “Fran” Carew, of Hobart, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2007 at St.
Mary Medical Center in Hobart. He was 74.
He is survived by four sisters, Betty (Glen) Guenther and Barbara (Ronnie)
Gilbertson, both of Chesterton, Agnes Fonseca of Indianapolis and Roberta
Robinson of Salt Lake City, Utah; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, James, John, Michael and Bud Carew
and a sister, Norma Jean.
Fran was a Hobart resident for most of his life and a US Army Veteran during
the Korean Conflict. He was formerly employed as a lab technician at US
Steel/Atlas Cement and retired from Maas Company Department Store as a sales
supervisor.
Funeral services, Rev. Robert B. Evers officiating, will be at 7 p.m.,
Thursday, May 10 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart.
Cremation will follow the service.
