Dorothy E. Pratt, of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday evening, Sept. 8, 2007 at The Waters of Duneland. She was 85.

She was born Nov. 25, 1921 in Chesterton, the daughter of Silver and Mabel (Scharringhausen) Witte, both of whom preceded her in death.

On Oct. 13, 1944 at the Chesterton Methodist Church, she married Clifford M. Pratt, who survives in Valparaiso.

She is also survived by a sister, Blanche (Edgar) Skibbie of Chesterton, nieces and nephews also survive.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Evert Witte.

Dorothy was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Chesterton.

Funeral services, Pastor Terry C. Rhine officiating, will be at noon Wednesday, Sept. 12 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at White-Love Funeral Home.
