Valparaiso resident Danny W. Clemons passed away Monday, Aug. 27, 2007 at
Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus, Valparaiso. He was 59.
He was born March 5, 1948 in Poplar Bluff, Mo., the son of James F. and Mary
M. (Spradling) Clemons. His father preceded him in death on Feb. 8, 2000. His
mother survives in Chesterton.
On Dec. 5, 1980 in Valparaiso, he married Ann Heckerman, who survives in
Valparaiso.
He is also survived by a step-daughter, Lisa (Christopher) Parry of
Valparaiso; two brothers, James M. (Kathy) Clemons of Valparaiso and Gregory
L. Clemons of El Paso, Texas; four sisters, Sandra K. (Robert) Friend of
Phoenix, Ariz., Deborah Jean Stoltz of Valparaiso, Lana Walley of Chesterton
and Tammy Sibbrell-Clemons of Valparaiso; and two step-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, James F. and Timothy D.
Clemons.
Clemons was a steelworker at Bethlehem Steel, retiring after 36 years in the
80-inch slab yard. He was a member of the Locksmith Association (American and
International). He was a member of Steelworkers Local 6787. He was an avid
photographer and enjoyed dragsters and NASCAR race cars.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30 at Edmonds & Evans
Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, with Rev. Tim McGuire officiating.
Interment will follow services at Heritage Crematory, Portage.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 29 at Edmonds & Evans
Funeral Home.
