Daniel Stoltz, of Chesterton, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at the
VNA Horton Hospice Center, Valparaiso. He was 78.
He was born Nov. 24, 1928 in Valparaiso, the son of Ewald and Cecil Stoltz,
both of whom preceded him in death.
On Jan. 1, 1971 in Valparaiso, he married Nancy Wiebe, who survives in
Chesterton.
He is also survived by three children, Nina (Matthew) Buchanan of Parker,
Colo., Paul (Laura) Miles, of McKinney, Texas and Pavla (Francis) Frazier, of
Rockville, Md.; nine grandchildren, Meredith Gilbert, Doug and Brian
Buchanan, Alexis, Elsie and Sydney Miles, Anastasia, Natasha and Tatiana
Frazer; a sister, June Deller, of LaFayette, Colo.; a sister-in-law, Ruth
Stoltz and nieces, Peggy Heffernan, Susan Schroeder and Sally Matson.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Stoltz.
Dan was an avid bowler and an American Bowling Conference Champion. He was an
Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the
American Legion Post for 55 years in Valparaiso. Dan enjoyed golfing and was
a 50 year member of the Rose Society. He retired in 1991 from McGill
Manufacturing where he was an engineer, with 25 years of service.
A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 at White-Love
Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until time of
service.
