Colleen L. Matz, age 80, of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, December 3, 2007 in Valparaiso.

Colleen was born July 10, 1927 the daughter of Arthur and Louise (Schedt) Pierce, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, Terry Matz of Valparaiso; daughters, Sandra Lindahl of Chesterton, Pam Smith of Chesterton and Cheryl Egly of Butler, Ind.; a brother, Robert Pierce of Valparaiso; half sisters; Sally, Donna and Fern; grandchildren, Tina, Mark, Renee, Robert, Jeff, Tammy and Tome; Great-grandchildren, Bradford, Marcus, Christopher, Cody, Brandon, Chloe, Jazmin, Maddalena and Nika.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Francis and two grandchildren, Becky and Charles Jr.

She was a former restaurant owner and retired from K-mart in 2002 after 25 years. Colleen loved the Christmas season, she liked to travel, loved shopping and scratch off lottery tickets. She enjoyed arts and crafts, bingo, card games, baking and was a true food enthusiast. She was a real people person and loved her family.

There will be no services. Arrangements are being handled by Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home in Chesterton.
