Carol A. Fender dies at 58

Carol A. Fender, of Chesterton, passed away Friday, December 7, 2007 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Michigan City. She was 58.

She was born in Oak Lawn, Ill. February 10, 1949, the daughter of Dr. Edward A. and Beth (Dougherty) Nisi, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, Brian E. (Angela) Fender of Valparaiso; grandchildren, Sam and Zach Fender and former husband William E. Fender of Valparaiso.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Skip Dougherty.

Carol graduated as a Court Stenographer with her Associate’s Degree and finished her education with a Bachelor’s Degree in ergonomics from Purdue University. She was a strong animal activist and a big supporter of PETA.

Cremation will take place at Heritage Crematory in Portage.

A memorial visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
