Bruno Lipniskis, of Chesterton, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2007 at VNA
Horton Hospice Center, Valparaiso. He was 86.
He was born Dec. 20, 1920 in Ontario, Pa., the son of Alexander and Dorothy
(Davis) Lipniskis, both of whom preceded him in death.
On May 30, 1948, in Chicago, he married Jean Kempa, who survives in
Chesterton.
He is also survived by three sons, Terry (Rose) Lipniskis, Richard Lipniskis
and Paul (Vickie) Lipniskis, all of Chesterton; seven grandchildren, Adam
Waldier, Courtney, Taylor, Bruno, Lee, Sarah and Renee Lipniskis, all of
Chesterton; a brother, Robert Yates, of Harrisburg, Pa.; a sister-in-law,
Polly Krol; brother-in-law, Ted (Delores) Kempa, all of Christopher, Ill.;
nephews, Roger and Robert Kardash and nieces and nephews, Joe, Ben, Jimmy,
Chuck Lipniskis, Phylis and Joy, residing in Pa. and Ill.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Helen Kardash and brothers, Ben,
Andrew and Charles Lipniskis and Eugene Yates.
Bruno was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving from 1942-1945 and was a retired NIPSCO
supervisor. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Chesterton. He
was a former member of Chesterton Moose Lodge #1623. He was an avid golfer
and bowler.
A Mass of Christian Burial, Fr. Terry Bennis officiating, will be offered at
11 a.m. Friday, July 6 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd.,
Chesterton. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 5 at White-Love
Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton, with a Prayer Service at 4 p.m.
Thursday at the Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to St. Patrick School or to VNA Horton Hospice Center.
