Barbara A. Stephens dies at 72

Barbara A. Stephens, of Chesterton, of Chesterton, passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007 at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus, Valparaiso. She was 72.

She was born Dec. 13, 1934 in Gosport, the daughter of Archie and Edith (Sink) Wampler, both of whom preceded her in death.

On May 16, 1953 at Chesterton Methodist Church, she married Russell E. Stephens, who survives in Chesterton.

She is also survived by two sons, Jeffrey (Robin Sherrer) Stephens, of San Francisco, Calif. and Lance Stephens of Chesterton; two grandchildren, Laurel Stephens of San Francisco and Tegan Stephens of Chesterton; a brother, Robert Wampler of Chesterton.

Barb and her husband Russ are owners of Russ and Barb’s Antiques in Chesterton.

Funeral services, Pastor Terry C. Rhine officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday at White-Love Funeral Home.
