Ambrose Kronenwetter dies at 86

Ambrose Kronenwetter, 86, of St. Marys, Pa., passed away peacefully on Monday, November 19, 2007 at his residence after a short illness.

He was born on April 26, 1921, in St. Marys, Pa., the son of the late Ambrose and Kathryn Rose Kerner Kronenwetter.

On February 14, 1946 he married Eileen Samick in Saint Mary’s Church. She preceded him in death on May 6, 2006.

He will be greatly missed by his seven children, Karen (Leo) Degnan of Cary, N.C., Donald (Libby) Kronenwetter of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Mary Kay (James) Jeselnick of Chesterton, Judy (David) Krick of St. Marys, Sandra (Thomas) Quiggle of Erie, Pa., Amy (Brian) Gruis of Kaysville, Utah, Lesa (Jeffrey) Kime of Fairport, N.Y.; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Maurice Mullaney and Clifford Samick, and one sister-in-law, Louise Samick and by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Donald, and one sister, Pauline.

Ambrose was first employed at Speer Resistor before starting Quality Components in Daguscahonda with nine partners. He was a member of Saint Mary's Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Country Club, and the Elks. He was also one of the Chairpersons for the St. Marys United Way Campaign in the 70s. He enjoyed bowling in his younger years and his favorite past-time was golf. His greatest joy was time spent with his children and grandchildren at family gatherings throughout the years.

A Mass of Christian burial, Rev. Michael Ferrick officiating, will be celebrated in Saint Mary’s Church on Saturday, Nov. 24, at noon. Internment will follow in Saint Marys Cemetery.

Friends will be received on Friday, November 23, from 6-9 p.m. at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home, St. Marys, Pa.
