Alfred Thomas Dickinson, of Heber Springs, Ark., formerly of Chesterton, died
June 2, 2007. He was 87.
He was born Feb. 1, 1920 in Chicago, the son of Edward J. and Agnes Melody
Dickinson, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by one daughter, Pamela (Patrick) Hart of Heber Springs, Ark.;
one sister, Rosemary Stockwell of Valparaiso; one grandchild, Patrick Hart,
Jr. of Heber Springs, Ark and many friends.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward J. Dickinson and long-time
friend, Ellen Varga.
Alfred was a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of the VFW,
where he served as Commander of the VFW Post 7660 in Lansing, Ill., Elk Lodge
and a life-time member of the American Legion. He was of the Catholic faith.
He enjoyed golf, fishing, cooking and gardening as hobbies.
A funeral services is scheduled at 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 5 at Heber Springs
Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Cleburne County Memorial
Gardens with military honors by the Heber Springs VFW Post 3543.
