Albert E. Villars dies at 86

Albert E. Villars, of Chesterton, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2007 at his home. He was 86.

He was born Aug. 14, 1921 in Danville, Ill., the son of Forest A. and Lyda Inez (Long) Villars, both of whom preceded him in death.

On Feb. 16, 1946, he married Margaret Louise Kepshire. His bride of 61 years survives.

He is also survived by Sharon (Michael) Grubb, of Chesterton; a son, Richard Villars, of Valparaiso; four grandchildren, Kristin (Michael) McGrane, Katie (Donald) Fesko, Karyn (Jason) Torres, Keri (Sean) Katzenberger and five great-grandchildren, D.J., Libby and Michael Fesko, Madaline and Caitlin McGrane.

He also has many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, many good friends from Chesterton, Danville and Phoenix, Ariz., where he lived for 20 years.

Preceded in death by parents, two infant children, a sister, Leota and a daughter-in-law, Lynn Villars.

Al served in the 7th Fleet in the Navy in W.W.II. He traveled the world before working for Carborundum. He was “Mr. Fix-it or Build a New One” for numerous family members and friends all over the country.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the funeral following at 1 p.m. Friday at the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.
