Agnes Louise Brown, mother of local resident Trina Hess, passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2007. She was 88.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Ross Brown, a retired Gary Police Officer.

She is survived by two sons, James H. Brown of San Francisco, Calif. and John Ross (Nora) Brown of Valparaiso; a daughter, Katrina Louise (Roger) Hess of Porter; a daughter-in-law, Susan Thompson of Louisville, Ky.; eight grandchildren, Ross, Ronald, Damian, Lara (Eric) Fee, Nathan, Patti A.J. and DeeDee; great grandson, Michael Fee and sister Katy Barrow of Seattle Wash.

Agnes, a resident of Miller for 57 years, was a very active member of the Marquette Park United Methodist Church in Miller. Her whole life was centered around her family and friends.

A memorial service, Rev. Tracey Leslie officiating, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point. Cremation will be at Burns Funeral Home Crematory preceding the memorial services.
