William C. Fennell, of Aztec, N.M., formerly of Chesterton, passed away,
Oct. 6, 2006 in Aztec. He was 79.
He was born Jan. 17, 1927 in Chicago, the son of William and Lydia Fennell,
both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Fennell.
He is also survived by a son, James L (Sherry) Fennell of Porter;
grandchildren Kevin Suitor, Chris Suitor, Jon Fennell and Jeni Fennell all
of Chesterton and Crystal Suitor of Valparaiso; a sister, Ann Barnes; a
brother, David R. (Judy) Fennell of Michigan City; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne Fennell and
great-granddaughter, Kailee-Ann Suitor.
William proudly served his country in the South Pacific during WWII. Bill
joined the US Navy on March 20, 1944 and was discharged May 28, 1946. He
worked at National Steel in Portage for 23 years and his hobby was antique
cars.
He was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and
brother. He will be greatly missed.
