Rodney P. Parent of Chesterton and Escuminac, Quebec, Canada, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006 in Chateauquay, Quebec, after a short illness.

He was born March 27, 1936 in Quebec, Canada, the first born son of Alderic Parent, who survives at 90. His mother passed away at age 63.

He is survived by three daughters, Carol, Noella (Mike) and Sara Jane Parent of Quebec; two grandchildren, Ashley and Michael of Quebec.

He is also survived by eight brothers and sisters, Percy, Mervyn, Albin, Norman, Dennis, Vincent, Mona and Susan, all of Canada and good friend and companion, Lynda Fowler of Chesterton and other good friends.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Alan.

Rodney drove for many years for Dean Trucking of Canada, owned by D&W transfer and Storage in Miller, Ind. He was recently employed by Lowe’s in Michigan City. He loved to play his guitar and sounded a lot like Johnny Cash. Rodney was a Canadian citizen and also a permanent U.S. resident for many years. He loved the United States and especially Arizona.

Funeral and burial will be in Escuminac, Quebec, Canada.

Arrangements are pending.
