Leslie W. Trapp, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Portage, passed away
Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006 from complications after surgery at the University of
Chicago Hospital. He was 76.
He was born Jan. 26, 1930 to the late William and Margaret (Zitek) Trapp.
He was married Jan. 2, 1965 in Lake Station to Lorraine Dreyovich, who
survives in New Port Richey.
He is also survived by a son, Brian (Tonya) Trapp of Boulder, Colo.;
daughters, Denise (Robert) Samocki of Chesterton and Deanna (Albert)
Stazinski of Valparaiso; brothers, Donald Trapp of Koontz Lake and Richard
(Peggy) Trapp of Greenbriar, Tenn.; nephews, William Trapp, Richard Trapp
and Duane Trapp; niece, Diane Bates and grandchildren, Madeline and Story
Trapp, Samuel and Sydney Stazinski and Maggie and Charlie Samocki.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, William Trapp and nephews John
and Donald Trapp.
Mr. Trapp lived in Fla. for the past seven years, moving there from Portage,
where he had lived since 1965. He was a member of St. Michael the Arch Angel
Catholic Church in Fla. He was formerly employed as a Sheet Metal Worker at
Tonn and Blank Construction with Sheet Metal Workers Local #20. He was a
member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Michael’s.
A Mass of Christian Burial, Fr. Seluaraj Selladurai officiating, will be at
11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 18 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1855 Harrison Blvd.,
Valparaiso. Cremation will follow at Heritage Crematory, Portage.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday, with a wake service at 7 p.m. at
Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage.
Arrangements are under the direction of Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage
Chapel.
