Jared Noah Back, of Portage, passed away Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006. He was 25.

He was born July 16, 1981, the son of Noah and Cynthia (Oakes) Back.

He is survived by his father, Noah Back of Valparaiso and his mother, Cynthia Back of Portage.

He is also survived by a sister, Angela Back of Phoenix, Ariz.; maternal grandmother, Ruth Oakes of Portage; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Stuart Oakes; paternal grandparents, Lue and Fannie Back; uncles, Rodney Back, Jerry Back and Burchiss Back and aunt, Mary Back.

Jared enjoyed life, being with his friends, shooting pool, motorcycle riding and his dog, Hoss.

Funeral services, Pastor John Allen officiating, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage. Interment will be at McCool Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to New Directions of Lafayette, Ind. or to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
