Edward J. DeLaet, age 86, WWII Army Vet, of Des Plaines, Ill. since 1952, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, in Park Ridge, Ill.

He was married to Phyllis Van Krunckelsven, who survives.

He is also survived by children, Thomas, Anne (James) Koller, Jean (Bruce) Daniels (of Chesterton), and Joan (Robert) Kaatz; a brother, Evaughn (Robert) Figarelli.

He was the cherished grandfather of Kelly(Brad), Kristy, Brian, Jeffrey, Andrea, Lindsay, and James and the fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sister Beverle (Louis) Olsen.

DeLaet was discharged from the U.S. Army as a Captain and retired from St. Regis Paper Co. in 1983 as a regional sales manager.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 794 Pearson, Des Plaines. Interment will be private.

Visitation will be, Dec. 1, from 3-8 p.m. at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines.
