Dorothy M. McKinney, 88, of Hebron, passed away Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006 at the VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso.

McKinney was born April 19, 1918 in Rennselaer, the daughter of Ernest and Mary (Reeder) Clemans.

She graduated from Liberty Township High School in 1936.

On September 2, 1939, in Valparaiso, she married Sherman J. McKinney who preceded her in death in 1999.

She is survived by their two sons, Bryon (Pat) McKinney, of Porter and Gary (Kathy) McKinney, of Hebron.

She is also survived by two brothers; Wilbert (Edith) Clemans of Roanoke, Ind., Donald “Snooks” Clemans of Valparaiso; three grandchildren, Tom (Jessica) McKinney, LeAnn McKinney, Tracy (Brian) Trippear and three great-grandchildren, Colin and Camdyn McKinney and Harrison Jack Trippear.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers; Ernest Jr., Gerald and Edward Clemans.

She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her family and friends for her love of sewing and as an excellent cook.

A visitation will be held Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso.

The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m., the Pastor Scott Morris officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice Center of Porter County, First Christian Church of Chesterton or the Valparaiso Care and Rehabilitation Center.
