Chesterton resident Douglas A. Buczkowski, 60, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2005,
at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Michigan City.
He was born May 27, 1945, in Valparaiso, the son of Steve and Katie (Powell)
Buczkowski, who preceded him in death.
On March 29, 1997, in Chesterton, he married Marilyn A. Cloyd, who survives
in Valparaiso.
Also surviving him are a daughter, Jenny Buczkowski of Hannah, Ind.; a step
son, Erik (wife Chris) Suchak of Chesterton; a step daughter, Heather
(husband Dennis) Churilla of Highland; a sister-in-law, Lynn Proper of
Porter; a brother-in-law, Gerald Billings of Rhode Island; and three
grandchildren, Joel Suchak and Ethan and Chloe Churilla.
A lifelong resident of the area, he was an operating engineer, a member of
Local 150, and a former member of the Liberty Township Volunteer Fire
Department.
Funeral services, the Rev. Tracy Hoskins officiating, are scheduled for 11
a.m. Friday, Oct. 21 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway in
Chesterton. He will be interred at Chesterton Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Edmonds & Evans.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
