Judith Lynn Burklow dies at 65

Judith Lynn Burklow, of Michigan City, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005 at 3 a.m. at Methodist Hospital, Gary. She was 65.

She was born April 12, 1940 in Michigan City, the daughter of Elwood and Esther (Spain) Ahlgrim. Her mother survives in Michigan City.

She is also survived by husband of 46 years, Keith A. “Pepper” Burklow, two sons, Todd A. (Carol) Burklow of Lafayette and Michael (Missy) Burklow of Michigan City; a daughter Michelle (Dennis) Lorenz of Chesterton; five grandchildren and a brother Steve (Chris) Ahlgrim of Atlanta, Ga.

Judy was the former Director of the LaPorte County Drug and Alcohol Service. Friends and co-workers will remember her from the staff of the First Merchants Bank, Carson’s Jewelry department, Trail Creek Town Board and as a coordinator with Family Focus VNA of Michigan City and a volunteer at the Open Door Center.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a 1958 graduate of Elston High School.

A funeral service, Rev. John D. Hall of First United Methodist Church officiating, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20 at Carlisle Funeral Home, Michigan City.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Monday and on Tuesday until the service.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
