Dorothy T. Mauke dies at 84

Dorothy T. Mauke, of Chesterton, passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2005 at the waters of Duneland Health Care Center, Chesterton. She was 84.

She was born Feb. 1, 1921 in Chicago, the daughter of Joseph and Teresa Blume, both of whom preceded her in death.

On Nov. 6, 1941 in Chicago, she married Arnold G. “Arnie” Mauke, who preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 2000.

She is survived by three sons, Brian Douglas Mauke (Debbie Richardson) of Michigan City, Marshall Alan (Theresa) Mauke of Chesterton and Charles Joseph (Nancy) Mauke of Whitehall, Mich.; a daughter, Sandra (Anthony) Teutemacher of Valparaiso; a brother, Ralph (Betty) Blume of Apopka, Fla., nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She was a home maker and a member of the National Audubon Society.

Private family services will be Friday, Dec. 16. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, with Wake service, Father James Meade officiating at 6 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Lung Association.
