Jack A. Labs, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Valparaiso, died Monday,
Sept. 20, 2004 at New Port Richey. He was 66.
He was born Nov. 19, 1937 in Gary the son of the late Walter Labs and Selma
Cunningham, who survives in Bradenton, Fla.
He is also survived by a son, Mark (Linda) Labs of Valparaiso; a daughter,
Kelly (Jim) Earley of Valparaiso; a sister Gail Garwood of Bethel Park, Pa.,
a granddaughter Amanda Earley; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and
great nephews and a host of special friends.
He was retired as a crane operator from Bethlehem Steel. He graduated from
Edison High School in Gary and attended Indiana University, Bloomington. He
was a Navy Veteran and enjoyed watching the sun set in Florida.
Funeral services, Pastor Jim Thompson officiating, will be at 10 a.m.
Saturday, Sept. 25 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941
Central Ave., Portage. Cremation will follow at Heritage Crematory, Portage.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home
Portage Chapel, Portage.
