Chesterton resident Domenic L. Fenoglio, 83, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, at
Lincolnshire Health Care in Merrillville. He was born May 3, 1921, in
Clinton, Ind., the son of Peter and Maria (Genisio) Fenoglio, who preceded
him in death.
On Oct. 25, 1962, in Chesterton, he married Mary S. Soroka, who preceded him
in death on Jan. 6, 2002.
He is survived by two brothers-in-law, Andrew Soroka of Hobart and John
Sabin of Minnesota; a devoted friend, Theresa Olszewski of Chesterton; four
nephews, George, John, Marty, and Gene; a niece, Judy; and numerous great
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carlo and Andres Fenoglio.
He worked as a railroad engineer and was retired from Inland Steel, belonged
to St. Patrick Catholic Church, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus
and the Westchester Seniors Bowling League. He was an avid golfer and loyal
Notre Dame fan.
A mass of Christian burial, Father James Meade officiating, is scheduled for
10 a.m. Friday, Nov.19, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Road
in Chesterton. He will be interred at Chesterton Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Edmonds & Evans Funeral
Home, 517 Broadway in Chesterton, with a Knights of Columbus service and
wake service at 7:30 p.m.
