Agnes M. France, of Porter, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004 in Porter. She was 95.

She was born June 21, 1909 in Otis, the daughter of Joseph and Constance (Kush) Shifkowski, both of whom preceded her in death.

On Oct. 27, 1928 in New Carlisle, she married Charles France, who preceded her in death in 1976.

She is survived by a daughter, Betty Samilson, of Porter, grandchildren, Bonnie Samilson of Porter, Linda Spry of Chesterton, Robert Samilson of Tucson, Ariz.; a great grandson, Aaron Copollo Samilson of Porter and a sister, Helen Shreve of LaPorte.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Ronald Samilson in 1988; a brother, Sylvester Shifkowski and a sister, Mary Callander.

She was a home maker. She was a charter member of Women of the Moose of Chesterton and was an avid bingo player.

A funeral service, Pastor Ed Mitchell officiating, will be at noon Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday. Women of the Moose will conduct memorial services at 6:30 p.m.

Memorials may be given to Porter County Home Hospice Care.
