U.S. Rep. Pete Visclosky, D-1st, released the following statement
immediately following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on Thursday to
uphold the Affordable Care Act:
“The Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the Affordable Care Act is a victory
for the millions of Americans whose lives will be improved through the law’s
implementation. Because of the Affordable Care Act, children can no longer
be discriminated against by insurance companies, millions of seniors will be
better able to afford prescription medication as the Medicare Part D ‘donut
hole’ closes, young adults can remain on their parents’ plans until age 26,
and in the future, individuals with pre-existing conditions cannot be denied
coverage. Now that the Court has upheld this important initiative, we must
work hard to ensure its efficient and effective implementation and continue
our effort to create jobs.”
