The U.S. Court of Appeals is asking the public to comment on the application of U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Robert E. Grant of the Northern District of Indiana to be re-appointed by the Court of Appeals to a new 14-year term when his current term expires on Saturday, Aug. 16.

A U.S. bankruptcy judge is a judicial officer of the U.S. District Court who exercises the authority of the district court with respect to any action, suit, or proceeding under Chapter 6 of Title 28 of the U.S. Code. Comments are invited from the public and the bar as to whether Grant should be re-appointed.

Those comments should be in writing and sent by Tuesday, Sept. 30, to Collins T. Fitzpatrick, Circuit Executive, 219 S. Dearborn St., Room 2780, Chicago, Ill 60604.
